Neil Redfearn has had plenty of guidance from within Elland Road after being tasked with keeping Leeds on course for the play-offs.
The 46-year-old caretaker manager has been thrown in at the deep end following the dismissal last week of Simon Grayson and his coaching staff, but the former Barnsley, Charlton and Bradford midfielder appears to have taken the step up from Academy coach comfortably in his stride.
Redfearn, joined in the dugout last Saturday by Academy goalkeeping coach Andy Leaning and experienced defender Andy O'Brien, said: "To be honest it's all happened so quickly and in such a short space of time it's just been all hands to the pump with regards training and organising the lads.
"There are a lot of experienced people around the football club anyway, people like [chief scout] Mervyn Day and obviously [technical director] Gwyn Williams, he's an experienced guy.
"They know the game and I speak with them a lot of course and they give very good advice. To be fair on that front, the people above have been very helpful, offering advice and guidance.
"There's a lot of good people here at the club who I respect and I just want to do as well as I can for them, so that whatever happens the club is in a good position when they do come to make that decision."
