Welcome to our new feature TEAMtalk's Top Men, where we select our elite Premier League XI of the weekend - and invite you to do the same.

Every Tuesday, we'll ask TEAMtalk columnist and former England defender Danny Mills to pick his team of the weekend and see how it compares to our selection of the Premier League's finest who delivered the goods.

We'll explain our selections in more detail, then want you - our loyal army of readers - to pick your team of top men who caught your eye with dazzling displays or powerful performances.

You can choose any formation and there's no limit on how many players you can pick from each team - so have a think, then get involved.

Danny Mills' Top Men (4-4-2):

Krul; Ivanovic, O'Shea, R Johnson, Richardson; Mata, Scholes, Sigurdsson, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Aguero, Van Persie.

TEAMtalk's Top Men (4-4-2):

Krul; Kelly, Cahill, Bassong, Richardson; Mata, Scholes, Parker, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Van Persie (c), Ba.

Goalkeeper

Tim Krul: The Magpies keeper was beaten by loan star Robbie Keane - but pulled off a string of superb saves to keep Aston Villa at bay, ensuring debut-boy Papiss Cisse's wonder strike was a winning goal.

Defenders

Martin Kelly:The Liverpool youth-team product delighted the Anfield faithful on Monday, coupling a reliable defensive perfomance with an adventurous and confident outlet going forward.

Gary Cahill: Chelsea's new £7million centre-half provided some much needed steel in the absence of talisman John Terry, producing a calm, assured and solid performance against the reigning Premier League champions.

Sebastian Bassong: Wolves' new loan signing proved a massive difference to the relegation battler's backline, instilling a new-found confidence while combining a composed display on the ball with pace and strength to help marshall a beleaguered defence.

Kieran Richardson: The versatile Sunderland player impressed once more for the Black Cats, this time starring at left-back in the win at Stoke. One of the unsung heroes of the recent Wearside resurgence, Richardson never looked in trouble at the back and provided a valuable dimension in attack.

Midfielders

Juan Mata: Struck a wonderful volley for Chelsea's second goal on Sunday, and was the creative impetus behind the London club's impressive attacking performance. Continues to show that the Spaniard's price-tag was an absolute bargain.

Paul Scholes: Came on for Rafael da Silva just after the hour mark following Wayne Rooney's first penalty - and totally changed the complexion of the game. Dictated play from midfield and orchestrated United's stunning comeback from 3-1 down to earn a 3-3 draw. Class really is permanent.

Scott Parker: A typically commanding and imperious man of the match performance from the Englishman in the draw with Liverpool is sure to impress the onlooking Fabio Capello in the search for the next England captain.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: Fearless on the ball, the young Gunner must have caught Capello's eye as he ran the Rovers defence ragged, bagging a brace and more impressively making Theo Walcott look good!

Strikers

Demba Ba: One half of Newcastle's Senegalese synergy, Ba's return from African Cup of Nations duty coincided with a continuation of his blistering form, capping off an energetic performance with his 16th goal in 18 Premier League starts for the Toon.

Robin van Persie: The Premier League top scorer oozed class in abundance on Saturday, scoring three and assisting one in the demolition of 10-man Blackburn as the Dutchman pulled further away in the race for the Golden Boot.
