Gary Waddock is disappointed after Wycombe's resistance was eventually broken before falling to a 3-0 defeat at Sheffield United.
A debut strike from substitute Will Hoskins in the 66th minute pretty much ended a solid fight from the visitors at Bramall Lane on Saturday, before goals from Ched Evans and Kevin McDonald sealed the points in League One.
Waddock said: "We had a game plan and it worked up to a point; until the first goal basically. It was a challenge that spun back in their favour into the path of the striker (Hoskins), who scores.
"And the third goal was a shot from outside the box that was going wide, so I'm told, and it hits a player and goes into the back of the net - if we don't block it, it goes straight.
"I thought the players worked a hell of a lot and, as I said, the game plan worked to a degree.
"Sheffield United are a very good side and they had a lot of the possession but should the scoreline have been 3-0? I don't know."
