Tottenham duo Emmanuel Adebayor and Benoit Assou-Ekotto are among TEAMtalk's Top Men, our elite Premier League XI from Matchday 25.

Every Tuesday, we'll ask TEAMtalk columnist and former England defender Danny Mills to pick his team of the weekend and see how it compares to our selection of the Premier League's finest who delivered the goods.

We'll explain our selections in more detail, then want you - our loyal army of readers - to pick your team of top men who caught your eye with dazzling displays or powerful performances.

You can choose any formation and there's no limit on how many players you can pick from each team - so have a think, then get involved.

Danny Mills' Top Men (4-4-2):

Hart; Reid, Distin, Lescott, Assou-Ekotto; Pienaar, Dempsey, Parker, Odemwingie; Adebayor, Rooney.

TEAMtalk's Top Men (3-3-1-3):

Hart; Neville (c), Caldwell, Assou-Ekotto; Nzonzi, Dembele, Arteta; Bennett; Adebayor, Rooney, Odemwingie.

Goalkeeper

Joe Hart: Manchester City and England's number one proved his innumerable worth by producing some stunning last-minute heroics to save three vital points for City at Aston Villa on Sunday, swinging the title race in their favour once more. Hart's excellent form means he is already one of Europe's best goalkeepers, and at the relatively young age of 24, City arguably have 10 of his best years ahead of them as they seek European domination. MS

Defenders

Phil Neville: Discussing Denis Stracqualursi's crucial second goal for Everton in their 2-0 home win over Chelsea, David Moyes said: "The best part of it was the tackle by Phil Neville. I was nearly cheering Phil's tackle as much as the goal." With Juan Mata and Ashley Cole to cope with on his side of the Goodison pitch, Neville led by example on the right side of defence. Hard to believe he turned 35 last month. The Toffees were terrific (particularly Steven Pienaar) but their skipper gets the nod here. JH

Gary Caldwell: It wasn't a great weekend for defenders, and it's admittedly unlikely that the three at the back we've chosen here would keep many clean sheets in the Premier League. But like the Neville selection, leadership counts for so much and Caldwell not only marshalled Wigan to a vital 2-1 victory at Bolton, he popped up with a goal too. JH

Benoit Assou-Ekotto: The Spurs defender put in an impeccable and entertaining performance throughout Tottenham's 5-0 mauling of Champions League contenders Newcastle. With a marauding and ever-dangerous outlet offered on the left side, Assou-Ekotto was a constant worry for Newcastle's ailing defence. The sole negative to the Cameroonian's game on Saturday? His questionable (to say the least) hair! MS

Midfielders

Moussa Dembele: A metronomic midfield display from Fulham's classy Belgian in their 2-1 home win over Stoke. Dembele's 84% pass rate kept the Cottagers ticking over and Martin Jol made a point of picking him out for praise having asked him to play in a much deeper role than usual. JH

Steven Nzonzi: One of the few shining lights in Blackburn's relegation-battling season, Nzonzi once more proved on Saturday that the struggling club still have a fighting chance at survival. The French midfielder capped off an excellent man-of-the-match performance with a vital first-half goal against QPR in their crucial 3-2 win at Ewood Park. MS

Mikel Arteta: The manner of Arsenal's come-from-behind 2-1 win at Sunderland belied many of the usual accusations thrown at Arsene Wenger's side, but looking at the balance of play at the Stadium of Light, it's hard not to see past another accomplished Arteta display. When the Gunners dominate (and they did here), it's their Spanish dictator who reigns supreme with precision passing and touches aplenty. JH

Elliott Bennett: When Paul Lambert rejigged his Norwich line-up into a different system at half-time Swansea on Saturday, Bennett became the focus of the midfield attack. Thanks to a combination of skill, athleticism and spatial awareness, he finished the game with two assists in the Canaries' 3-2 win. Zonal Marking's Michael Cox has written an excellent assessment of Bennett and Norwich on Saturday which is well worth a read. JH

Strikers

Wayne Rooney: Manchester United's Scouse stalwart stole the show at a fiery Old Trafford, persistently hassling Liverpool defenders and dropping off from the attack to help dominate the midfield. With his excellent showing in the 2-1 win also providing the hosts' pivotal two goals - his third and fourth in two key games - is the Englishman's form returning just in time for a title charge, and could he even fire England to Euro 2012 glory? Then again... MS

Emmanuel Adebayor: As noted by Who Scored on Twitter on Monday, Adebayor is "the only player in the top five (European) leagues to be in double figures for both goals and assists this season" - the towering Togo forward has 10 of each. By setting up four of Tottenham's five goals against Newcastle and scoring the other, he simply turned in one of the finest individual attacking displays of the season so far. JH

Peter Odemwingie: The Nigerian striker provided a stark reminder of why he was the Premier League's hottest property not that long ago during West Brom's 5-1 demolition of Wolves at Molineux on Sunday, exuding confidence and offering a constant threat up front. His combination in attack with the impressive and industrious Marc-Antoine Fortune culminated in him taking home the match ball with an impressive hat-trick. MS
