Nottingham Forest have signed central defender Scott Wootton on loan from Manchester United.
The Reds slipped to another demoralising defeat on deadline day, with a 2-0 reversal against Burnley leaving them second from bottom in the Championship table and five points adrift of safety.
There was, however, positive news on the transfer front, with 20-year-old Wootton - who had a loan spell at Peterborough earlier this season - joining Stoke's Danny Higginbotham in making a loan move to the club.
"Scott is a good footballer, he's composed," the Steve Cotterill told the club's official website.
"He's a big lad and played very well against us here for Peterborough - he actually played in midfield that day - and he will bring a bit of youthful exuberance to us.
"It wasn't too costly to bring him in and we're bringing in an experienced player in Danny Higginbotham."
