Plymouth will continue to focus hard on developing young talent as they look to rebuild following owner James Brent's takeover.

Brent acquired the club in October with the primary aim of returning the Pilgrims to a sound financial footing after two years of hardship and near liquidation.

"As a broad principle, clearly youth development is very important to us given the physical location and catchment area of the club," Brent told Press Association Sport.

"It does naturally cover quite a large population so we are very much keen to support youth development. I think that's very much a three-way view. I've got no doubt that there may be some players come through and, as soon as there's interest from Premiership or Championship clubs they may want to move on.

"It may be that Carl thinks they're not right for us and he wants to move them on but in terms of the budgeting approach that we have, we have assumed no transfers in and no transfers out.

"I think that Carl's view would be that everyone has a price and that if someone wants to move and the price is great enough then we'll support that."
