QPR owner Tony Fernandes admits even he has been shocked at the fallout from the John Terry race row which first unfolded at Loftus Road.
Fabio Capello's shock walkout as England manager on Wednesday came hot on the heels of the Football Association's decision on Friday to go over the Italian's head and strip Terry of the England captaincy.
The FA finally decided to act in light of an incident during QPR's 1-0 victory over Chelsea on October 23 at Loftus Road involving Anton Ferdinand.
Terry is to now stand trial in July when he will deny a charge of racially abusing Ferdinand.
Fernandes said: "It's the power of the media, the power of how seriously people take a situation, and strong views.
"If you had told me then something like this would result in the England manager resigning I would naturally have been surprised."
