Roy Hodgson has backed his misfiring West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie and insists the best is still to come from the Nigerian international.
Odemwingie netted 15 times last season but has only been on target four times during the current campaign, which has been blighted by injury setbacks and a lack of form.
He was guilty of one of the misses of the season during the weekend home defeat by Swansea in the Premier League.
Hodgson said: "Peter has got the ability but, as I've said before, this season we haven't seen the best of him.
"Hopefully we've still got it to come. He's fit now which is the most important thing and there are still a lot of games left.
"Maybe he just needs a bit of time to get back into a playing rhythm."
