Ricardo Vaz Te has been reunited with West Ham manager Sam Allardyce after the striker signed from Barnsley for an undisclosed fee.

The former Portugal Under-21 international was first brought to England by Allardyce when he was in charge of Bolton.

The 25-year-old, who has scored 10 goals in 12 starts for the Tykes this season, has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at the Boleyn Ground.

He told West Ham's official website: "I feel great. I'm very excited to work with Sam again and it's great because I know a few players here.

"I'm very thankful and excited and looking forward to it.

"I had a fantastic time at Barnsley. I'm very grateful for the opportunity they gave me and I hope the fans can understand why I left as West Ham is a great opportunity for me."
